The only dedicated international short film festival in Estonia, Student and Short Film Festival Sleepwalkers brings some of the very best short films from across the world to an enthusiastic audience of local film fans, international cineastes and industry professionals. The festival also aims to be a showcase of some of the very best work coming out of film schools from all corners of the globe whilst providing a networking opportunity for both students and teachers.
The festival includes an International Competition, an International Student film competition, a National short film competition and The Baltic Sea Competition (films from Denmark, Estonia, Latvia, Finland, Germany, Lithuania, Poland, Russia, and Sweden). The festival also promises special retrospectives and masterclasses alongside many other surprises.
Sleepwalkers is dedicated to showcasing the breadth and diversity of short films that are being created across the world, focusing on new talents coming out of film schools and professional short film makers. Short films can be often dismissed as ‘practise before a real film’ and Sleepwalkers aims to show that shorts are an art-form in their own right and encourages audiences to experience some of the freshest and most cutting edge experiences in cinema. From fiction to experimental, music videos to documentary, audiences will be able to see brilliant and exciting films from across the world during the festival and its year round programme of screenings and events.
